PROJECT TEAM

KVAO’s management team comprises of 5 experience professional staff with over 40 plus years of combined experience working with the Cambodian resettlement program since the inception of the project.

 

TAN SONEC (Executive Director)

Tan Sonec has worked in Project and Sales Management since 2004. He was working with RAP/RISP/RISP from Jan 2004 – Sept 2009. He returned to work with KVAO in February 2018. He is responsible for the strategic direction and overseeing the implementation of the overall programmatic elements of KVAO.

 

YOUN SARATH (Deputy Director)

Youn Sarath holds a degree in Business Administration, worked with RAP/RISP/RISC from 2004-2009. He also worked as a Project Manager at Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO Cambodia) from 2009 – 2015 and as a Program Manager at the Extraordinary Chambers (ECCC) from 2016 to 2017 prior to coming back to KVAO as a Deputy Director/Case Manager.

 

NY CHHUNNA (Admin/Finance Manager)

Ny Chhunna has a Bachelor of Business Administrator, specialized in Accounting and Finance, from Human Resources University. He was hired in January 2015 as program Admin/Finance Officer. He was promoted to KVAO’s Admin/Finance Manager in December 2017. He is responsible for the financial and administrative management including budgetary control, accounting and financial reporting of KVAO.

 

KEO SARITH (Senior Case Manager)

Keo Sarith is a Senior Case Manager, and was originally employed with the program as a liaison officer in 2002. He has a background in social services. Since 2009 he has overseen all work of case management.

 

OEM SONG (Site Manager)

He’s been employed since program’s inception in 2002 and provided oversight of the special needs clients’ and the temporary/transition housing. He is responsible for providing leadership to the housing staff and ensuring the smooth security management and function of the housing site.

 

 

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The KVAO Board of Directors is responsible for the governance and strategic development of the organization and is comprised of five members with over 15 years of social work, international development, and finance experience.

 

NOUN SO THERO (Chairman of Board)

Thero received his BA in Business Administration at NUM in 2000 and MA in International Relations at PUC in 2004. He worked for American Assistance for Cambodia from 1994. In 1999 he was promoted to be its Country Director which has the annual budget of $720,000. From 1999 to July 2015 managed to build 550 schools in collaboration with Word Bank and ADB, and the Ministry of Education, nationwide through grants from donors in the U.S. and Japan that totaled around 10M dollars.
WILLIAM (BILL) HEROD (Board Member & Advisor)

William (Bill) Herod is a retired development worker, having served with NGOs in Viet-Nam, the U.S., Hong Kong and Cambodia since 1965. Since 1994, he has been resident in Cambodia and has assisted in Cambodian-American resettlement since 2002.
PICH PANHA (Board Member)

Currently he acts as project coordinator with Justice and Relief for Survivors of the Khmer Rouge project and provides mental health support for Civil Parties of the ECCC, known as ‘Khmer Rouge Tribunal’. Panha, holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Public Health from the University of Cambodia provides counseling and psychotherapy to a wide range of clients at the TPO Treatment Center and is also TPO’s Clinical Supervisor.

 

MARIA LEONOR F. MONTIEL (Board Member)

Sister Len is a Philippines national. She is the Director of Seedling of Hope/Maryknoll Cambodia, and she has been in Cambodia since 1997. Her working experience in Cambodia includes Adviser to Youth Resource Development Program and founding director of Maryknoll Anlong Kngan Community Development Project. She has a Masters in Social Work Degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington (USA).

Mike Yong is a Principal at Western International School (Boeing Chhouk). He has obtained his Business Administration Degree from Chemeketa Community College in the State of California.
